Where to stay on SPI?!??!

My husband, myself and our 10 mont old are wanting to take a "beach" trip, but don't want to take the baby to Mexico or Carribbean yet. Where's the best place to stay on SPI - nice pool and beach!?!?!

Thanks a ton!!

St. Petersburg Inland, right?
If it's South Padre, there aren't any really great accommodations there.
There's a Radisson that is (or used to be) OK.

Joy wants a beach trip. Why, St. Paul must be the answer!

It's pretty obviously South Padre Island.

SD are my initials, if you must know, but it's irrelevent. And my last name starts with a small "d" so it's correct capitalization!

SPI stands for South Padre Island, Texas.
With a young baby, you'll probably do best to rent a condo so you can have a kitchen and laundry. There are hundreds of them available for rent. Try www.spionline.com for starters.
The beach there is not aqua blue waters, but it is nice and the area is very child-friendly.

I would also recommend a condo. The island is only 1/4 mile wide, so both the beach and the bay sides are fine. The benefit of the beach side is obvious; the bay side is best for fishing, watching water birds like pelicans, and viewing sunsets. Wherever you stay, make sure they will allow an infant in the pool.
