Zim is in better shape now than twenty years ago. We had him messing up the Sox in the early eighties.

Even if Pedro doesn't have his best stuff, I'll take our bullpen over the Yankees anyday and that includes Mussina and Wells. The heck with the World Series - now I just want to beat the Skankees.

Stevejudd, Whats up with the racist statement"that dominican trash". Statements like that got Rush Limbaugh fired. Lines like that show the true quality and character of Yankee fans.

Goodness Ahhnold, I notice a distinct anti-New York trend emerging. I'm a very well educated professional AND a Yankee fan. I guess it takes all kinds, huh...

ahhnold's not interested in baseball -- he just wants to sit back and play "racism police".

What's wrong with calling someone on a racist statement? Seems to me ahhnold did the right thing. You want to trash talk our players, be my guest, but don't be trashing them based on their religion, ethnicity, skin color, etc. There's just no call for that.

I'm sorry but I had to laugh at the groundskeeper being put in a neck brace after they claim he was treated for "cleat marks on his back". This must be some sort of new medical practice we're not aware of. And never has a groundskeeper antagonized a fight in any stadium ANYWHERE. Trust me, Nelson was not going to throw a punch for no reason, nor would him and Garcia see any fair "witnesses" come to light about the incident, because let's face it, this was Beantown. And even Pedro's own teammates have been known to call him names.

As for the Series, the Red Sox will cough like they always do in the end. They may lead in the beginning but they will get cocky and make sloppy mistakes. I said long ago this would either be the world series that beats both curses or proves them. So I'm guessing on a Marlins-Yankees run.

Doh....good point. Pedro is a bright man that has done more for humanity in one morning than people like Stevejudd will do in a lifetime. English is his THIRD language(yes, french from his days in montreal) and he speaks better english than Roger Clemens.

Can you picture Joe Torre in a press conference saying" we got to get that Domincan trash tonight".

Pedro pounds 72 year old men. Kind of shows the manner of man he is.

Zimmer is a tired old coach who attacks pitchers for hitting batters. Should he chase down Clemens, the headhunter of all time? Pedro pounded nobody,he was attacked and defended himself. Get your facts straight.

pithers hitting batters is part of the game, deal with it.

No question that Roger is known for throwing at people but he didn't that night did he? Unless of course Manny's head is so big it was in the middle of the plate in the way of the pitch. So what's the justification?

Point is Pedro did the deed on Saturday and everyone knows it. As for his (Pedro's)overall character, I wouldn't know because I don't follow BosSox but it's well known that even his own team mates don't really like him.

Go Yankees.

Karen..You have no clue what you are talking about. His teammates look to him for leadership and to carry the team. For some reason,I think you know NONE of the true aspects of life inside a baseball clubhouse. Just because the media in NY does not like Pedro, doesn't mean his team does.

When he beats the Yankees tonight,he will be carried of the field by his team. That will answer your question about his team.

I won't be because they like him. It will be because they won and he happened to be pitching.

Don Zimmer never touched Pedro. He just ran out there yelling. Boy, Pedro is real brave throwing an old man around. He should have been ejected.

As you wrote in your post, you don't follow the Sox. So, you are in no authority to judge the relationship of a baseball team. Write what you want, but you are dead wrong. And, any opinion you have on the issue is completely unfounded

Zimmer grabbed Pedro. Watch the video. Even the Yankee fans McCarver and Boone agreed that Zimmer instigated the incident. The tape showed Zimmer running around the crowed to get Pedro. Only the facts, folks.

That's right...the still shot shows Zimmers hands on Pedro just as Pedro is about to grab him.
