where to stay in san diego??
I am traveling with young children to San Diego next February. I would like to stay in an upscale hotel that is good for kids. What do you think of the following choices: Hotel del Coronado, Sea Lodge (La Jolla), or Paradise Point (Mission Bay)? I want to stay at a great resort that also is located in the best spot. Thanks.

From reading previous posts about this subject (I, too, am traveling there soon with my 7 yr old), I would say your best bet is the Hotel del Coronado! I've heard rave reviews about it... do a search of San Diego and you'll find plenty of great advice from previous posts. Have a great trip!

The Coronado is an excellent choice. Do look at our San Diego section (www.gocitykids.com) for info on what'll be happening for kids while you're there!

If you stay in the Del, please note that in order to satisfy the demand, they have built an annex. Get assurances that you will be staying in the main building and not the annex; if you stay in the annex, then you may as well stay in a Sheraton, since you will miss the flavour of the place. Lowe's is a very good resort, also on Coronado Island.

Hi
Just returned from a week in San Diego. We stayed at the Hyatt Islandia in Mission Bay and was very pleased. We rec'd an upgrade to a suite due to amisunderstanding at check-in. Location is good for all activities, right near SeaWorld and you could walk to the beach(less than a mile). We found plenty of free parking at the beach if you get there before noon. Hotel does not chatge for parking and we liked the grounds and pool. You will love San Diego. We have a 13 year old who was unsure when I told her we were going and she loved it.
