We stayed at the Gramercy Park Hotel at Lexington and 21st, which is a great location, but the hotel was disappointing. I reserved 6 months in advance for a non-smoking room, but when we got there they said none was available. When I mentioned the reservation, they simply repeated in a take-it-or-leave-it attitude that none was available. Then they tried to add $10 a night to the rate they quoted on my reservation at checkout. The hotel is old and mediocre at best in the rooms.

Has anyone stayed at the Royalton? Thanks to your advice, I won't be staying at the Paramount, but was wondering if the Royalton would be a little more comfortable, as it has less rooms than the Paramount, although it's a bit pricier.

I stayed at the Marriott marquis and was VERY disappointed, especially afer paying $350 a night. The roof leaked the whole time and I had to move the bed. The guest relations woman yelled and screamed at me and was rude and unprofessional. I will never stay at a Marriott again.
