Where to stay in Munising, MI?

Right now, I have a 2-night reservation at the AmericInn in Munising, but it appears to be a bit off of the beaten track. Any suggestions for another place that is clean and quiet to base for a few days while sightseeing the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore area? The Holiday Inn Express was appealing, but it was about twice the price I'd expect.

Well, everything up there is kinda off the beaten track so I wouldn't worry much about that.

We've enjoyed Terrace Motel, nothing fancy though, just super clean and quiet

Thanks. I guess that I could have been more specific in stating: The AmericInn is a couple of miles off of the bay, away from many of the other properties...

I've only stayed at the Terrace and the Sunset Motel on the Bay, Both were fine, but not so impressive that I would make a point of returning.

I was blown away by Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Park, take your time in exploring. If you see a trail, walk it

I can only NOT recommend the North Star Hotel. It seems to be fine for some people, I can only say the linens were borderline rags, the breakfast had a not very enticing smell, and the lady who runs it seems a bit "overworked".

It is NOT a big town, so maybe you can split the stay?

I think people sometimes have too-high an expectation regarding lodging areas that only have a few months of the year when they make a decent income. In other words, look for clean and comfy but don't expect a big-city Marriott type of renovation project happening anywhere.
