Where to stay in Colorado Springs
I will be traveling with my husband and three young kids,(4-9), to Colorado Springs the end of this month. We will only be in the area for three days for sightseeing. Any suggestions on where to stay? We would like it to be nice. Not the Broadmoor, but not a dump. We will be traveling with another family. Thanks!

The Wyndham has a gorgeous view (http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/COSCO/main.wnt) but is still pretty pricey. The Sheraton (http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sherat...propertyID=850) is much the same.
I think there are actually three Hampton Inns in CS, north, south and airport, depending on where in the city you want to be. None of them are anywhere particularly lovely, but you will get a better deal at a place like that.

We stayed at the Wyndham a few years ago and were quite pleased. The views were gorgeous, and I remember the bed being very comfortable, with down comfortors and a down pillow-top for the mattress. The hotel was convenient for sightseeing.

I agree that the Wyndham is a great place. I've been going there for five years and my wife and I have been more than satisfied. However, the last time we were in Colorado Springs, for our grandson's graduation from the Air Force Academy, we stayed at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. I can only say "WOW!!!". The place is out of this world!!!

The Wyndham and Antlers (now owned by Hilton) are good suggestions. The Antlers is downtown. As far as downtowns go, though, Colorado Springs doesn't have a ton of crime.
Other nice, but not over-the-top pricey hotels are:
-the DoubleTree
http://doubletree.hilton.com/en/dt/h...tyhocn=COSP-DT
It's pretty close to everything. Easy to find parking. Lots of restaurants in the area.
-the MicroTel Inn & Suites

I've had friends stay there and like it. It's near the highway, but it's a safe part of town near some businesses and homes.

Hi Folks --
Here's a helpful suggestion. When putting really long URL's in a reply...got to
www.tinyurl.com first.
Copy and paste the URL in a click and presto ...it becomes way smaller and less likely to cause problems when posted.
For example... the URL Spencerinc posted becomes...
