Where to spend 2 or 3 days after wedding in LA?

We are traveling from Florida to LA for a wedding. We will be in LA for two nights...where could we drive for 2 or 3 days to extend our trip? We have been to San Diego and Santa Barbara...any other ideas?

How about a ride out to Catalina Island? Or go north of Santa Barbara to the Santa Ynez Valley and visit some wineries?

There's plenty to do IN L.A. Amusement parks and beaches which - being from Florida - you might not be interested in, theaters, museums, restaurants, shopping, movie studios all of which are available for your exploration. If you must escape the city, Catalina would be a good option or how about hopping the border into Mexico?

Laguna Beach is down the coast about 60 miles. It's great to visit for the beach, galleries, art shows, dining, etc.

I second the Santa Ynez Valley area -- loads of beautiful wineries (Los Olivos is a quaint stop, you can go horseback riding, etc.). We were there in June and had the best meals and a wonderful time, despite the fact that the weather was definitely "June Gloom".
