Where to go for golf week in July?

My husband and I, both 40 somethings, want a romantic week of golf in July or August. Somewhere not too hot (we live in Houston), pretty setting. We like relaxing, beautiful scenery, interesting local sites, and good resturants.

Wow.... romantic and golf in the same sentence... I wanna marry you, 888.

On this coast (west), the obvious choices are the Monterey/Carmel area and San Diego. But the hidden gem is Bandon Dunes, on the central Oregon coast.

Cape Cod...? Tons of great daily fee courses in the area. Maybe stay in Chatham and use that as a base. Some great courses in Brewster (The Captains Course, 36 holes; Ocean Edge Resort) Yarmouth, (Bass River Golf Course, Bayberry Hills) just to name a few...try
www.golfcapecod.com for some other course info.

Thank you so much for the help. I guess I should have added that I've only been playing golf for a year and while I love it, a challenging course might make me run for my credit card and the nearest mall!

How about Colorado, thin air makes your ball go futher so I hear.

Keystone has 2 courses. Beautiful setting. Summer lodging rates are very resonable search google forKeystone Condo. Keystone doea offer some discounts on Golf at http://keystone.snow.com/

The Keystone Lodge and Spa is very nice.

Silverado Country Club in the Napa area of California is magnificent. Relaxing condos to rent, decent golf, great scenery, and a nice spa. Many restaurant and winery options in the area.
