Where to go for a luxurious weekend?
I'm posting this for a friend:
I live in NYC and want to go somewhere special with my husband for a weekend in July. Can anyone recommend a luxurious hotel ($250 - $300 a night) or B&B with a great pool, beach or lakefront? We are willing to drive anywhere within a 3 hour radius of NYC.
We are in our 30's with a new baby and this will be our only time to spend alone without the baby.
Thanks,
Jodi

Jodi,
We went to the Finger Lakes Wine festival last year and absolutely lovedthe are! We stayed on Seneca lake and drove up and down both sides visiting wineries and enjoying the views. One Inn- Geneva on the Lake is exquisite!www.genevaonthelake.com
We stayed at Glenora Inn, which is not luxury, but was beautiful, quiet overlooking a vineyard and the lake. They had a great restaurant where we dined on the patio. Take a look at the Finger Lake area on their web site www.fingerlakes.net.There are some other luxury Inns up there- book now, they get busy!

OOPS! I misread that, LOL! Wait a minute- Canyon Ranch doesn't serve any alcohol? After 9 months of abstinence, I think I'd want to get away with hubby and sip some fine wine while looking out over a lovely lake.Of course, not everyone shares my opinion so don't blast me, OK?

Seven years ago, right before my son was born friends treated us to a night @ the Norwich Inn and Spa - not super luxurious but very nice, excellent spa treatments, tennis & pool, very pretty area and the hotel restaurant was good (& we're fussy NY'ers) The Sagamore is nice also, much bigger, beautiful surroundings also good food and nice facilities - but unless you go on off times it is full of families - (I've found even tho I thought we wanted to get away, seeing other people's kids just made us miss our kid more. Go figure.
