Where to eat in Santa Barbara

I live in Los angeles and will taking my mom on a train ride to santa barbara for mothers day!!! Where should we eat..??.that isnt crazy expensive. we wont get there till 1pm..so perhaps a late brunch or early dinner. Something that has some good food and ambiance. Somewhere that a 78 year old Mom would enjoy. thanks

DW and I had a great breakfast at Joe's Cafe on State St.

It's about 5 blocks up State St. from the train station.
Your other options would be one of several restaurants out on the pier.
You might want to take the bus up to see the mission.

Nice idea, clifbob! The Fess Parker Doubletree hotel has a very nice outdoor seating area, with a fireplace, and food service.

Wife and I enjoyed the brunch at the Lafond Bistro on State Street. Also agree that the Doubletree is a nice setting. had dinner there and it was very good. We also like the Palace Grill for a taste of New Orleans in Southern CA...The bread pudding is exceptional.
