Where to buy nice CA wine in Anaheim Orange County area

I get a lot of feeback on my question on restaurant in the Orange county area. Thanks to all. Now here is my next question, where I can buy nice California wine? I am staying at Doubletree Orange County just outside Orange Mall. I have a car so a little bit driving around is ok. Thanks

Beverages & More (called BevMo) has stores in Brea, and Orange plus a few other Orange County towns. It is sort of a wine/beer/liquor superstore and has regular tastings and a pretty large selection in all price ranges.

Most of the bigger Vons and Ralphs supermarkets have decent selections of wine.

Hi G,

The Wine Exchange in Orange on Tustin Avenue is most excellent. Wide variety, from very expensive to moderate. Happy sipping!

BevMo and Wine Exchange are great suggestions.

I will put a shout out to the Wine Country in Signal Hill, twenty minutes away from your hotel. Outstanding pricing on a broad, balanced selection of wines from around the world, including California producers. Saturday wine tastings, evening wine classes, artisanal cheeses, caviar/roe, cured meats and olives. Like the Wine House in West LA without any of the attitude.

But if all else fails, just hit a supermarket, like Barbara noted. Ralphs, Vons, Pavilions and Bristol Farms have fine selections. And Trader Joe's is wonderful for alternative wineries and lower-priced table wines.

A better question: What varieties of wines do you like? Are you planning to lug the bottles home (in which case they should be really special), or are you looking for stuff to drink while you're here?

It's way better to establish a relationship with your local wine store at home and get 20% discounts and free delivery, imhpo.
