If you could travel any where in the world where would you take two boys 10, and 5 yrs. old to? Considering safety first, and life memorable sites.

I think you can bring them to the Disneyland near
LA. Have a nice trip.

My vote is for Washington DC. It would be a great place to take the kids for fun (they don't need to know that it's a history lesson as well). The Smithsonian museums- Air & Space, Natural History, and American History- are all free and very fun (hand-on exhibits for kids). Stay at a hotel in downtown DC (near Pennsylvania or Constitution Ave). No need to rent a car- everything is walking distance or you can take the Metro. The area is safe and naturally wonderful.

Have you considered a "dude ranch?" There are
many throughout the west, especially Colorado,
Wyoming, California and Montana. Our family went
to one in the Sierras (northern California) when I was
10 years old. I still remember it as one of my best
childhood experiences. There is an excellent
book on ranches available, unfortunately, I can't
recall the name or author. The kids will love the
cookouts, horseback riding, rodeos and all that
cowboy stuff. Good luck!

My vote would be Disneyworld in Orlando. It is a much more varied experience than Disneyland. It has appeal for everyone. There are hotels in every price range and there are many other attractions in the area. Cape Canaveral is close enough to drive to in a day. Washington D.C. would be great for the ten year old but the five year olds I know would be bored. Also D.C. has a terrible crime problem.

Forget Disneyland and Choose Disneyworld in FLA.
If you can afford it, stay right there in the canpgrounds and I think your kids will remember this for a long time. There are also lots of other things for kids to see and do in Florida, like Busch Gardens and Circus World.

Disney is a wonderful, magical place, but NOT what I recommend. The thrills kids and adults experience there can be duplicated in other places. Also Mickey, the commercial atmosphere and having everything around being a tourist attraction can get old real fast. How about GRAND CANYON? Truly one of the most beautiful places anywhere. It's not just a sight, but a feeling as you look at it. Relaxation, activity, education, beauty...You can look at it for hours, go on mule rides, go camping, learn about Native American cultures, and drive to other sights in the area. WashDC is a good choice too, but I don't know if a 5-year old would enjoy/understand monuments and museums.

D. C. and the area would get my vote. Disney's placesd are great, but depending on the time of year it can be way too crowded.
My kids always like beaches. East coast of Florida with Cape Kennedy and the local beaches were big. West coast florida with Busch Gardens and local beaches were big too.
Myrtle Beach, S. C. is neat.
Gulf Coast beaches are clean and some historical stuff nearby.

Colorado was wonderful! We were there 3 weeks and my kids had a blast. So much to do! Camping, Royal Gorge Bridge, the"North Pole" an amusement park different from anything you've probably ever been to! It's above Colorado Springs at the base of Pike's Peak, another great sight. And of course there's the Durango/Silverton railroad. You've gotta see it!
