Where else if not the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay?

need help -- my friend is planning a very special weekend with her boyfriend in the san fran area and shehad her heart set on the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay.

Unfortunately, they are all booked for the nights she needs!!

Any other suggestions for azmazing hotels/resorts that are an easy driving distance from SF that measure up to the Ritz?

How about the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley. They have very nice spa packages and you have a view of the City from the hotel. It's closer to SF than Half Moon Bay.

Although not quite the same as a resort with a bluff overlooking the Pacific, the RC in San Francisco is quite lovely. Request a room looking out to Coit Tower. Service at this facility is top notch.

How about The Fairmont on the top of Nob Hill?

What about something in the wine country? Auberge du Soliel and Meadowood are both beautiful and romantic.
