Going anywhere especially spooky this year ?? Do you have any cool costume plans you have been working on ??? Do you do anything especially weird to your home or go all out with a party ? Do you make your pet wear a costume ? My Mom made the best homemade costumes for me when I was a kid, any great memories ??? It's my favorite time of the year !!

No costume, but I'll be in Savannah this year for Halloween. I had checked on going to the club where The Lady Chablis (from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil) performs, but found out that there is a $25 cover on Halloween.... will probably do a Ghost Tour of Savannah instead.

I'm not dressing up, but my boys will and so will my 16 mo. old German shepard. Last year we got a dog costume that was a devil, which I thought was very appropriate for the fiesty puppy he was at the time. Of course, the devil horns lasted just long enough on his head to snap one picture!
This year I want him to wear something that he can keep on, and I think he's going to wear one of my son's NBA jerseys. (We're all big basketball fans). I wanted him to wear Kobe's jersey, but my husband was afraid that this could be interpreted that we support Kobe. I was thinking more in the lines of, if Kobe did do what they are saying, then he certainly is a dog! But we will be safe and I think he is going to be Vince Carter. (We have the choices of Iverson, Snow, Carter, Kobe or Garnett - any suggestions?)
My son's cub scout troop marches in a Dec. Holiday parade each year and we have to think of this years theme for the float. (Last year's float was Spongebob and won 2nd place). Since a lot of my son's scout friends have dogs, I suggested that all the dogs wear reindeer antlers and pretend to be reindeer and "pull" Santa's sleigh down the street. It would never, ever, work that all the dogs would walk appropriately down the street AND keep the antlers on for the entire parade, but I think it would be funny to see!

We will be in the Virgin Islands over Halloween, and I found a couple of neat things to do.
There is a Halloween party cruise on a large schooner, and then there is a HUGE party at Foxy's bar on Jost Van Dyke that is called the Cat Fight. (There are catamaran races all day that end in the giant Halloween party and costume contest.)
So I'm going as a flapper and my husband is going as an Egyptian pharoah.
But Halloween was my absolute favorite holiday when I was a kid, so I will miss the nippy sweater air and the kids shuffling around the neighborhood!

Will be with my boyfriend in his home, Santa Cruz. Checking out for the first time the Ghost Train that goes through the redwoods at Felton (the Roaring Camp railroad). The website says they tell the story of Ichabod Crane along the way, and something about like projecting images onto the dark forest?? Anyone done this?
Later we'll probably do what we did last year, walk around with everyone else downtown SC, then go dancing. This year he's sewing a Pink Panther costume and I bought a little girl's Hello Kitty costume...the dress doesn't fit, (so I bought a pink one with polka dots, and white tights!) but the head does--a white, babooshka-like Hello Kitty head, complete with pink bow. It's a pretty hot costume. I'm excited.

We're going to be in NYC this Halloween, so I think we'll go to the parade in the Village. missjanna, we will absolutely be looking for you, so if you hear someone screaming your name, it could be me.
scarlett, I will never recognize you in your costume, even if you are standing right next to me, but maybe Pup could go as Superpup in a mask, tights, and a cape. What do you think?

When I went looking for my costume they had a smackload of dog costumes as well. I got mine at Ricky's, which they have locations all over Manhattan. Their website is www.rickys-nyc.com.

Um, Ellen, is there an addition joining Audrey and Rusty or is this costume for fun?
Last year I went to Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, NC for their celebration. Only about 20% of the people wore costumes. If you are going out to celebrate, wear a costume!
I'm not sure if I'm going up to Franklin Street again this year, I might go away for the weekend.
