When will you start planning your next summer trip?

I am always planning a trip. Maybe not actually making the reservations, but reading, investigating, checking prices. We don't take a summer vacation, but tend to take more spring and fall vacations. It is never too early to start.
This year is a little different for us, we had to book our FF tickets to Hawaii 10 months ahead of time. Otherwise, I have never actually book a trip that early. But I'd be looking.

already went gung-ho on information for next July 2003 trip to Colorado/Wyoming/South Dakota & now am "twiddling my thumbs" wishing there was more I could do. Realize if I don't save something for later, I'll be really counting the days though!
Often plan ahead. Am not marking down all the fine details of exact roads yet. Have not actually reserved anything yet. Nothing major to reserve - will wait until January.
Have done "last minute" things too.
Usually like to plan - that's half the fun.
p.s. - what does " ttt " stand for as often seen in these internet postings?

I'm constantly planning a trip. My friends and family accuse me of having an addiction to travel which irritates me a little. They never go anywhere which I just say its a matter of priorites. I love planning a trip , which I agree is really the best part. It helps me to destress.I'm planning a trip to Lake Tahoe in Dec. and when I'm through with that, I'll plan my summer trip. I just got back from Ouray Co. /Santa Fe in August. When you plan ahead, you get the best prices(not always with airfare) and it helps you to budget. That's why I travel as much as I do being, a teacher , I don't make that much so, I need bargains.

Ricky: You can't always get what you want if you wait until the last minute.
I'm leaving for Las Vegas next Monday, have started planning a trip to Toronto for the spring, and am working on a trip to Italy for next October. So many places are calling to me!!!

Message: All right, I can't resist this one. In these days when frequent flier seats evaporate a year in advance, it pays to get started now on next year's plans. We are going to Bali in June, returning in July (yeh, I know it's the U.S. forum) but in order to figure out when to go and for how long, I had to figure out our whole itinerary. So, we already have our tickets--one roundtrip business class and one upgraded economy but our first choice in dates was not available.

Message: I started planning my late Jan. 03 trip in February! Two weeks in Hawaii to escape the dreary Oregon winter. Pretty sure we will go to Mexico in Jan. 04. I've done some research, but no real planning yet.

I have all my reservations for a trip to So Ca next summer, airfare, car rental, hotel and tickets to venues. Got incredible deals this far in advance. Of course, when it is snowing and cold in the midwest, it is fun to plan a trip to a warm climate.
