when to go disney

I want to find the LEAST crowded time to go to Disney. Someone told me October. Is this correct?
Thanks!

The weeks before and after Thanksgiving are the least crowded. October is a pretty good time, too.

Drew, you might also want to consider length of daylight in planning your trip. We were there in late Sept/early Oct when air temps were very nice, hours were okay and crowds were much, much less than in summer. And, water temperature in water park was very comfy.
Have a nice trip.

Drew--In addition to the above posts Mid Sept to week before Thanksgiving, Then week after Thanksgiving to week before Xmas. Also the 1st 2 weeks in January are not bad as is the 1st 2 weeks of May. Disney usually runs specials for Florida residents during Sept, Oct and May so that should tell you something.

My favorite time is early November. The average high is low seventies (might see 80). We are not much for the water parks though. Also November has the least chance of rain.

Would that be DisneyLAND or DisneyWORLD?

Drew, we went on Labor Day week, actually checked in the evening of labor day. There were no lines in any of the parks that we went to and it was still hot enough to enjoy a different water park every afternoon, again with no lines. It was wonderful.

I have tried Disneyland at all different times of the year but found that the least crowded time is February, the week after Presidents' weekend. Sometimes it is rainy at this time so the locals stay away, which leaves the park to the tourists only (of course, it often rains only sporatically during the day, not continuously). When else could you be the only one on Dumbo's Elephants and then turn around and go on it again? For other good times to visit the park, look at "The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland", available at any library and bookstore.

On Super Bowl Sunday. Everyone else is watching the game! (I did see a few guys with headphone sets on). NO lines--I promise!

I went the week after labor day and it was still very hot and humid. The last time I went was the week of Halloween. It was wonderful. Not too humid, but still hot enough to swim. If you do go then, keep in mind that there is a special admission on Halloween and you need to buy your ticket ahead of time. We did not know that and could not enter the magic kingdom that day. Pleasure Island that night was a blast! But, not for children.

Drew,
I live a few minutes down the street from Disneyland and hold annual passes. I strongly agree that October and early November are the best times to visit Disneyland. Statistically November before Thanksgiving is the least crowded time to visit Disneyland.

Drew: We've been to CA Disney many times. The best was late September. The lines were short and it wasn't too hot. It rained one day and since we're from Washington, we went anyway and just wore hats. Who cares about warm rain? Disney is so great about moving people through lines that I really haven't ever minded waiting. Have a great time!

keep in mind that during the slow, least crowded seasosn, that Disney World:

- cuts back on park operating hours.
- cuts back on parades, live entertainment, firworks, etc.
- more attractions are likely be be closed for refurbishment & maintenance.
