When do I need to leave Disneyland to catch a 9pm flight out of Orange Co. on a Tuesday?
Just booked an up and back trip to Disneyland for a special "mother son" trip and want to get the most of the day.
When do I need to leave the park to make a 9pm flight on a weekday? I can take either a shuttle or a taxi
Thanks

Not sure what an up and back trip means?
Taxi would probably be less time than a shuttle. I assume you are headed to John Wayne Airport.
You would probably make it just fine leaving @ 6:00 but perhaps would be better off leaving the park at 4:30 or 5:00 and eating dinner in the airport instead of the park.
I guess you are storing luggage at your hotel? Curbside checkin with bags, usually saves a little time.
Haven't been that many times, but traffic is totally unpredictable in my experience.

I'm assuming up and back means a day trip - right? If so and you have no luggage, getting to the airport by 7:30 should be plenty enough time. Especially if you check in on line. It is less than 15 miles and you'll make better time at 6:30/6:45 than at 5:00 due to commute traffic.
I'd take a taxi.
I'd take a taxi.

I am also assuming this means up and back in one day. Like Janis says it's 15 miles. At that time of day, most of the rush hour traffic will be going the opposite direction. Just in case there is an accident I would give myself an hour to get from DL to the Orange County Airport. But it probably won't take much more than 30 minutes. I agree with Janis' time for leaving Disneyland and I would definitely take a taxi.

If you don't want to stress at all, I'd say 6pm. Which will be too much time on most days (you'll be at the airport at approximately 6:30 pm). If it was me, I'd probably wait til 7:00 pm.
There's a dedicated express bus that leaves the Disneyland Hotel on the hour. It stops at the other hotels, including the Grand Californian convenient to Disneyland at 15 to the hour. It's operated by Grayline, call 800-828-6699 to confirm. I'd prefer taking the dedicated bus over a Supershuttle.
