Turns out it was the girlfriend of one of the editor's. He didn't want our thread to draw so much attention to the knee that the wife would find out!

I'm still not convinced that that ad isn't somehow involved in these problems. I noticed that everytime I clicked to try to open a thread, that ad responded but the thread didn't.

Just to calm everyone's worry over the "knee" ad, it's been there all summer long!!! I don't believe it could be the cause of the problems, lol.

No, it's causing the problems, [she says with a noticable head twitch], I've noticed it looking at me, especially since last night. It's definitely taken on an identity all its own.

Try a different browser. I can't open threads with my preferred Netscape, but everything is crystal clear with Firefox.
