BayouGal, aren't there some questions you really shouldn't ask?

"Isn't the colliseum where you can watch a recreation of Shakespears plays?"

This comes courtesy of my sister, who apparently doesn't know the colliseum from the Globe Theater.

Nina66~ Happy day! I have met yet another secret sister in the world of travel junkies..
was I the only girl who used to collect travel brochures in h.s. and have them in a shoe box categorized by continents?(sad but true)..
I'll blame it on my mom, like everything else(sweet tooth, impatience, being early to all public events, eating too much bread in a French restaurant, not being able to pronounce three syllable words after two glasses of wine, wandering aimlessly in the handbag section of Nordy's, hiding chocolate from my family, well, you get the idea)..

Anyway, I am guilty of lingering here far too long today instead of doing paperwork and a decent cardio workout.. you know, I always wanted to be a Fodor Forum Postmate of the Month..(sniffling)., J.

:-?what's that? I need a question here to finish? ohhhh okay.... if twenty Fodorites are in a life raft that should only hold 12, who gets fed to the snarks first? hee hee..

If I dress like a homeless person while on vacation in Europe...will I fit in as one of the locals or will they still know I'm a tourist?

*What is Stone Mountain made of?

*How big is Mammoth Cave?

*Where will they be running the Kentucky Derby this year?

How do say the capital of Kentucky - Lou-eee-ville, or Lou- uh -ville?
(Neither - it's Frankfort!!)

Stone Mountain granite. It is the largest batholith in the world. Someone has joked that it also has the largest monument to the losers of a war.

MC = REALLY big!

Why do some folks know stuff like this?

Why doesn't Fodor's add more of those great advertising windows? Why don't they still have those lovely Disney characters flying across the posts when we're trying to read?

How long can the knee and/or conehead last in the sun without developing skin cancer? Does it look like it is getting redder on a daily basis?

Is there any chance that a lonely but adventurous Fodorite would want to meet me, sight unseen, for drinks and dinner and if we click, consider a permanent arrangement?

I have excellent insurance, am financially secure, and have unlimited air miles to share with the right person.

I hesitate to go through all the red tape at dating sites when it's much easier to find a kindred soul right here on the forum.

Think of the reception! It could be one huge gtg full of love and miniature bottles, travel magnets and recipe exchanges..

I have an extra 200 lbs. to lose first,(there goes Mr. Jetset), because the call of this site is stronger than my Mexican wedding vows.
Soon, you will see me in USA today and I will consider all honest replies, photo preferred for limb assessment...

Don't laugh at the red knee ad. DH works for an original dot.com company that owns quite a few respected web sites, technical, food oriented, games, etc... and they make money every time someone clicks onto one of those ads that most of us ignore. They make so much, that we can afford some wonderful trips on a regular basis. So, click, click, click.

Oh, I have to ask a question in order to play the game fairly, OK -

Jetset how far would you travel, upgraded or not, to spend an afternoon in a Nordy's purse dept.?

I've been forbidden by DH (RIGHT) to set foot in one. So I have to tell him that they follow me through the store dangling purses in front of me and daring me NOT to buy one. I am a very weak person.

Hopefully they will never dare me to jump off of the Golden Gate Bridge!

Nina

If rb and Gekko ever get off of their rule books long enough to ask a legitimate travel question, are we obligated to answer it?

Can you get there from here?

I still don't understand what can be done with a tube of mascara - please explain it to me? The only thing I've ever done with mine, in flight, is paint mustaches on snoring seatmates. Hope I didn't ruin it for every one else.
