What to do in Phoenix area for a long weekend?

My 30 year old son has a job assignment for the month of February in the Phoenix / Chandler area. He invited me (his mom) for a long weekend Feb 7 - 10. Do you have fun ideas for us? We like nature/hiking/theatre/eating/spa/museums, etc.

I would go to Sedona for a day trip--it's a bit of driving, but too gorgeous to miss!

The Heard museum, and Taliesin West (if you're at all interested in Frank Lloyd Wright, this was his western HQ) are also good options.
Enjoy!

For nature you can't beat South Mountain City Park and the Desert Botanical Garden.

Since you will be in the Chandler area, do yourself a big favor and spend some time at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa. It's a gorgeous place, very relaxing. Have a drink out on their patio which looks out onto wide open space and the mountains, and they have fire pits burning in evening. The nicer restaurant there, Kai, is beautiful and excellent. The more relaxed restaurant, Ko'sin, is very very good. You can eat outside, it's beautiful scenery and they have heaters out there in winter. The resort has a spa in a separate bldg., and it's great. I love this place and go there whenever I get the chance- I have reservations for late April again. They also have an equestrian center, you can ride up into the mountain area with a guide. And golf.
