I like to visit down by the lakefront. Grab a sandwich and/or coffee at the Alterra in the old mill.
Grab a fishfry.
I am not sure which festival is occurring at the lakefront, but it will probably be a great time!
There is a new piano bar, Lucille's, in the third ward that is supposed to be great!

This weekend's lakefront festival is Festa Italiana, the largest Italian festival in the US. It's lots of fun, and there are great fireworks every night. Don't miss the eggplant strips from the Venice Club.
There's also a small Croatian Festival on the SW side.
The Milwaukee Art Museum on the lake is architectually beautiful. There's an amazing Egyptian exhibit at the Milwaukee Public Museum.
For an upscale meal, my personal favorites are Sanford's (downtown) or Eddie Martini's, (west side). Ethnic favorites are Singha Thai on the SW side, El Rey Sol, also SW, Dancing Ganesha, east side.
If you like live theater, The Odd Couple is playing, with two excellent local actors, and there's a Rodgers and Hammerstein revue at the Skylight.
