What place have you been to that you were most "in awe" of the beauty? Looking for a place for me and my husband in October.

Woow, such great responses!
I'm really doing some research now. I think I am leaning towards Sedona and the Grand Canyon...wanting to drive somewhere else too, so we aren't there for the whole week.
Any other thoughts on somewhere within a days driving distance that has some color other than just red rock (locking for some variety).
Oh and to the previous poster, we live in Michigan near Lansing Michigan! Yes, the Upper Penninsula is beautiful.
We've been to the Smokey Mountaings in the fall, and yes, it is beautiful.
Thanks everyone...anymore?
Love to hear the stories.

I saw the Grand Canyon in April so it is fresh in my mind (and still awesome). It was my first visit and I arrived before dawn. Having the canyon appear beneath me as the sun rose was incredible. We returned to the same spot for sunset and I captured some great shots.
A close second was my visit to Antelope Canyon near Page, AZ. The pictures I've seen on the web (and the Nexium commerical) give you a feel for its beauty but being there is a great experience. Best of all, it is easy to get to (some would say too easy).

Without a doubt - San Francisco. No other city comes close. I've traveled throughout N. America and Western Europe. Yes, Paris has beautiful architecture and parks but so does SF with so much more: the view from Coit Tower on top of Telegraph Hill was amazing. You see that mediterranean style view of the bay with all it's islands, the golden gate bridge, victorian homes etc.. Simply breath taking. Plus many cool little communities to stroll about. Chinatown is amazing, unlike anywhere else in the US. You feel as though you are in another country.
