What are your favorite restaurants in Las Vegas casinos?
Hi -
I was just curious what some of everyone's favorite casino eating places were. Next time we go I'd like to try one of the newer nice places (nice, not super expensive like Picasso).
Does anyone have any suggestions along the line of Pinot Brasserie at Venetian? I've been there and liked it. Please don't recommend Olives. Been there, done that, and it was way overpriced with no value for the money. $100 for dinner for 2 of us (no wine) and I felt like I was at TGIF.
So, any ideas?
Happy 2000!!

Hi Heather -
Thanks for replying. I assume that's the one by the little "stream"? We keep meaning to try it and always forget about it. I'm glad to hear that it is good. It always looks great when we have walked by. We'll be sure to put it on our list.

Greetings -
I never get down to the Luxor much but I'll just have to give them a try. We've been to a few steak houses around but never the Luxor.
Speaking of steak, has anyone tried the steak house at NYNY? It looks great.
Also, if anyone likes a quality buffet, I highly recommend the weekend brunch at Bellagio. The regular lunch is also good. I haven't done the dinner one yet. I do think this is about the best buffet in town right now. The Rio World buffet used to be good but it has gone down hill recently.
The selection at Bellagio is very good, not mind boggling, but good. The quality is excellent. Very fresh. Two of the best things they do is chilled shrimp which has been peeled AND deveined and the fresh pizza baked in a big stone oven. Very good. The best thing to do is ask them what is getting ready to come out and then wait for it. When you get it just out of the oven like that it is divine.

If you like all kinds of Mexican, Tex-Mex, and Mexican-Fusion food, be sure to try The Coyote Cafe at MGM. Everything on the menu is good. Also, Border Grill at Mandalay Bay has really good Mexican food and a tasty choice of tequila influenced drinks to boot. Both places are moderately priced.

Lynn - Mon Ami Gabi is my favorite restaurant in Vegas. We probably spent $50 - $60 a person with wine. The food was excellent. If you are there when it is warm, ask for the patio. You can watch the Bellagio show during dinner.
Aureole - Wine list is outrageous expensive. Food was excellent. There we spent probably $75 - $80 per person with wine (by the glass).
Hope this helps. Enjoy.

We were in Vegas in May and found two great restaurants. For upscale, we tried Andre's (French) in the Monte Carlo and had a great meal, impeccable service and one hell of a chocolate souffle! It wasn't cheap though - about $150-$200 with a good bottle of wine.
Next, we tried Rumjungle in the Mandalay Bay - what a neat experience! The place itself is really cool - there's a wall of fire at the entrance. The food is in the fashion of a Rodizio (not sure about spelling) barbeque - you basically order what's called the "fire pit" and they keep bringing you food - salmon, beef, chicken, tons of it! You can get a variety of sides and the rum drinks are great. Truly a unique experience!
