Right now the road that accesses Tuolomne Grove is closed
I thought the closure is just past the trail for Tuolumne Grove.
Regarding Hwy 1 through Big Sur, Caltrans is planning to open the highway south of Carmel as far as Big Sur Station (just north of Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge) this Thursday so barring more storms, you'll be able to drive this 26 mile section (and then backtrack north) in April.
On the other end from Cambria heading north on Hwy 1, you can only currently travel as far as Ragged Point but it's possible that more may open up by late April. No anticipated opening date past Ragged Point has been announced yet.

Oh, never mind. I was thinking of the winter closure for Tioga Pass not the storm damage closure on 120.
On the plus side, 41 to the south entrance of Yosemite is now open with one way controlled traffic.
A stop at Sequoia/Kings Canyon would be a good way to break up the long drive from Vegas to Yosemite and see sequoias (the largest trees and groves are here) but I don't know if you have any wiggle room in your itinerary at this point.

Target and Walmart stores are other options for fairly inexpensive clothing and you can usually find these stores in most areas. It shouldn't be terribly cold although it is hard to predict. I've been in Yosemite in April when it snowed and have also been there another April when the weather was very pleasant.
It sounds like a great trip!
