Weekend winter getaway

Would like to go up to the mountains in Janu for a quick getaway. Went to Maggie Valley last year and enjoyed it--it actually snowed when we were there
ANy suggestions? Am considering Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge area--not very familiar iwth it.
We would like to have an indoor heated pool if possible.
Cabins or hotel is ok.

thanks
(Not really interested in shopping---more interested in just sort of getting away)

It would be helpful if you specified which mountains. Do you want to go to the Rockies, New England, the Sierras or some place else?

I just posted a trip report on Gatlinburg area. Since you are not interested in shopping, I wouldn't recommend staying in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. Very busy, congested area! The Smoky Mountains are beautiful, but I'd recommend staying in Townsend to get away from the crowds. Sorry I can't help with specific hotel in Townsend.

Have you been to the Murphy area (Cherokee County), about 1.5 hours from Maggie Valley area? Don't have a pool, but have info on a cottage/cabin available. Close to 2 flea markets, Nantahala & Ocoee Rivers and a cute little downtown. Sales & occupancy taxes are higher in TN, you may want to stick to the NC side, and not have to worry about traffic and congestion like you would have in GBurg/PF area, and you can visit the N. GA mountains (Helen is cute Bavarian-style town, about 45 minutes from Murphy) while there, and less busy during the winter months. Email me if you need more info.

thanks for the suggestions.
Yes, am familiar with Murphy--very cute.
I am going to look into Townsend.
So, Galtinburg is really congested??? What else is there to do besides shop?
We will have our 5 year old with us (thus the importance of an indoor pool--last year being able to come home and relax poolside after being out all day was fantastic--and really wore her out
