Week stay in Vermont starting 10/3/02
I am looking for a remote B&B in the general area of Killington (I Think)to serve as a base for day trips thru out Vermont.
I am also open to other locations to serve as a base.
Am I to early for the fall colors?

I can't comment on B&Bs as I'm from VT and have never stayed in any up there. Regarding location and color: You will definately have picked the right time to go. You should have plenty of color!
The Killington area is a good base-Vermont is pretty small, so you're never too far from anywhere to take day trips! There are a couple other websites that come to mind that will be of interest to you-www.newengland.com which has a great B&B listing and some good info on Fall Foliage in general. www.scenesofvermont.com also has great info and a good message board which is monitored by locals, so you're apt to get some very good advice. Even though it's a year away, you're smart for starting your planning early as October is Vermont's busiest month for tourism! Have fun!

How about the Rutland area or Woodstock? Rutland a big place, but only about 15 minutes from Killington. Woodstock extremely popular and I do believe I've seen many signs for B&B's.(Route 4) But sorry, I can't recommend one as I've never stayed. Good luck

Take a look at the website for the Round Barn Farm a really nice B&B in Waitsfield. You're actually booking a bit late for this very popular "leaf peeping" time of year, but I found a surprisingly large number of rooms available yesterday in New England for the coming weeks - my guess is that folks may be cancelling reservations in light of recent tragic events - the innkeepers will likely be very happy to hear from you!
