Week in Key West

Staying in Truman Annex for a week. Part of the week will be with 4 year old triplets and the rest of the week will be 3 adults. Ideas welcome. We would like to rent bikes, enjoy snorkeling and more local food.

We really enjoyed the snorkeling trip we did with Sebago, also going to the Hemingway House, and taking a seaplane to the Dry Tortugas to snorkel (you can take the ferry there too), Danger Charters does a great sunset sail for the grownups. Also fun to watch the sunset from Mallory Square for a night; they have street performers, etc.

Key West is all about walking, and water... Hopefully, your gang is mobile enough to explore the length of Duval and the neighborhoods near Old Town...

The kids might like the Conch Train and Hemmingways six-toed cats, as well as the many boat options... Lots of shops, toys, ice cream, and interesting people...

For the big people, lots of shops, bars, food and interesting people...

We liked the Conch Train too; I think that's a great suggestion for kids. There's also a treasure museum where you can see gold, etc.

By doing on line research when I was in Key West I was able to find interesting lectures, concerts and tours that weren't publicized. Also, if you like live theater, there are a few theaters there....

There is a small but good Aquarium. They allow the kids to pet a Nurse Shark.

That sort of freaked me out, all the little kids waving their hands around in the shark tank. Everyone came back with all their fingers though.
