weather, coffee

What is the weather like in Oahu and Maui in May? Has anyone stayed at the Aston Coconut Plaza in Oahu? or Maui Coast Hotel in Maui? Also, we're in our late 20's.. I work in the coffee business, looking to visit some coffee houses.. What are the best ones? Also, what should I absolutly not forget to pack?

Since you work in the coffee business, why not go to the Big Island and visit some coffee farms? Mmmm, Kona coffee, mmmm.

Definitely go to Kona to check out the Kona Coffee there. It is so addicting, it's like a drug for me!! While on Oahu, come on down to Aloha Tower Marketplace. We have a coffee spot called Bad Ass Coffee, which is run by some of the best people! I go there for a coffee fix all the time, hot or cold.

p.s. just a warning, once you've had 100% Kona coffee it is VERY hard to take anything else. I'm such a snob at some restaurants now!

Re: Aston Coconut Plaza, Honolulu

We stayed there about a year ago and loved it. It's a small boutique hotel, slightly aging, but quiet, and reasonably priced -- with gorgeous views across the Ala Wai canal to the valleys. Only complaint we had, was they had no on-site parking, so we had to wait for the valet get our car from a nearby street...and they rarely hurried!

We were on Maui last year in April and the weather was great--i don't think it should be much different for you. One thing to remember (and appreciate) is the saying, "No rain, no rainbows". the rainbows there are awesome!!
