Weather & attire in Vegas
Getting ready for the big trip & just wondering what I should expect to take - jeans & boots I cannot live without, but what about a cocktail dress (no, I won't wear the boots with it)! I am a t-shirt kind of girl and I was hoping I could just blend in with the crowd. I also don't want to take a bunch of blouses if I won't be wearing them.
Also, what is the weather like typically mid-december? Thanks!

Being from NY, I find that I am always over dressed in LV.That means I wear normal clothes for where I am from-everyone else wears tee shirts and jeans, fanny packs, sneakers, a lot of people think getting dressed for dinner at a good restaurant means putting on a tighter tee shirt and a pair of black jeans. But just in case that isn't your style-I take a pair of black pants and a dressy top, sometimes a black boatneck tight top, and wear a pair of high heels...that is about as stylish as LV can manage...and you can wear lots of good jewelry -- you will see some men with more gold on them than most women you know Winter weather can be chilly and windy-nights are cold.I also take a black leather jacket, that always works.Have fun-good luck~

Las Vegas is most definitely a T-shirt and jeans kind of place. You can wear most anything you want most places. A very few nightclubs and restaurants have restrictions. People don't often get dressed up at night in LV any more, it seems.
At night it'll be cold. Often 30's, sometimes lower. Days can be crisp, 60's are common, 50's later in December, but it feels cooler because it's so dry. Often windy too.
Have fun!

I agree with pretty much everything the above poster says. Las Vegas is VERY casual...occasionally tacky. Lots of t-shirts, jeans and tennis shoes. You won't need a cocktail dress, either, but will probably be happy with a black pants outfit. I checked weather underground for the temps the past few Decembers and they ran from the 40s to one in the low seventies. Count on it being cool...and don't forget the air conditioners are usually blasting away in casinos, so you'll probably be happy if you take a light sweater.

I generally go to vegas every dec. Sometimes the casinos have the heat on and it can get a little warm so I recommend layers! Peel off, put on. No need to get dressed up but you certainly can! You will see everything from suites to jeans at night in the casinos. Have fun, wear what you want, make sure it's washable 'cause everything will REEK of smoke when you get home. And most important GOOD LUCK!

We were in Vegas in August for my nieces wedding. I had not been there in 20 years and was in total culture shock. I remember the days with the long gowns and diamonds (Like on TV). Forget that, we were even overdress for my nieces wedding. I wore a spagetti strap long linen dress and felt over dressed. When we were there the dress was short shorts and crop tops and wedge shoes. In the winter jeans and a nice top with a leather jacket would fit right in. If you want to get real daring, wear suede or leather pants and a blouse. That is probably the dressiest you will have to get. Have fun and win big.
