WDW outside hotels?

Family of 2 adults, 2 teenagers headed for WDW
in June. It's too late to stay in the World. Has any
one stayed at any of the suites outside of WDW?

Any info regarding hotels,or anything else would be
appreciated!! ( I know it's going to be hot and
crowded)

The Hyatt in Kissimmee is not too far from the south entrance to WDW. It's very nice and has many pools. Next to it is a hotel that used to be the Sheraton, but may now be the Hilton. It was really nice too. For a little cheaper fare, try any hotel on highway 192 in Kissimmee (same area). These are easy in/out to WDW. Also go to Old Town Kissimmee on the same road. Lots of fun for young and old (stop in the general store for 5-cent cokes).

We are planning a trip to Orlando in September.
Our plans include staying at Homewood suites. The
room will cost $79.00 plus taxes.
It includes transportation to WDW
along with a deluxe continental breakfast.
Good luck!

In january 1997 I stayed with my family(7 people)
in the Summerfield Hotel International Drive. It was very clean, the rooms had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a kitchen and the children loved it.
There was also a included continental breakfast

A few years ago, we stayed at the Embassy Suites. It was about $100 per night and it includes a full breakfast buffet and a manager's cocktail reception in the evening (kids get soft drinks). The Embassy Suites was only 2 miles from WDW and there were many restaurants (mostly chain) nearby. The Embassy had an outdoor pool and was very clean. Good luck!

We just returned from Orlando last week and stayed at a great hotel--the Renaissance Orlando Resort (formally Stouffers). Its across from Sea World, halfway between WDW and Universal. Our rate was $240 a night which INCLUDED two tickets to Sea World or Universal, deluxe full breakfast buffet for 4, 10%25 off anything on the property plus taxes were included. We went to Disney World, came back to the hotel and swam--the pool is fabulous and returned to Disney for the night parade. The next day we went to Universal. We only stayed one night. Just so you will know, Universal was virtually empty in the afternoon. The older kids(above 9) enjoyed Universal more than Disney. One tip at Universal--use the Valet parking! We followed the signs for Valet Parking and wound up at the entrance to the Park. It was only $12 vs. $6 in the big lot and when we came out at park closing the car was there. That may have been the best money we spent on the trip!

Paula, I think you could get that Homewood Suites for $69 in September. Get the Orlando Magicard from the Orlando Convention and Visitors Bureau (www.goflorida.com/orlando) or the Kissimmee-St. Cloud Visitors Guide (www.floridakiss.com - they have a coupon for Homewood Suites for $69). And call the hotel directly.
