It's a brand new property, located in the University District, several miles from downtown. We live nearby and have been curious as to what it's like, so if you stay there please file a trip report. Website looks nice.

Although they evidently offer shuttle service to downtown and to University Village (upscale in-town shopping center nearby) I expect you'd still want a car to get around. The "Ave" - University Way - is close, for your late night espresso or copying needs, but for more choice in dining and sightseeing a car will be needed.

If you fancy the "U Disctrict," also check out the Best Western University (aka Meany) Tower, a landmark art deco building a bit closer to the center of the district. www.meany.com

The website does look nice!! www.watertownseattle.com We recently stayed at the Edgewater Hotel for four days and literally did not drive anywhere. This hotel does shuttle you anywhere you want to go. They even called a comp limo to take us to Salty's for dinner.

Seattle is a great place to spend Valentine's Day. If you want some recommends on great places to eat, I'd love to offer some to you! Have a great time in this beautiful city. ***kim***

That would be great! I'll list our favorites here: Salty's on Alki Beach, The Flying Fish, Dahlia Lounge and our hotel restaurant Six Seven at the Edgewater. Bon Appetit! We also had some great clam chowder and fish tacos at a little place right by the aquarium. Ask away!! ***kim***

Rick, I live right by the Watertown, haven't stayed there but indeed it looks nice. My thought is this, why stay in the U District though when everything your going to want to do and experience is most likely downtown. Even with a free shuttle it is time spent on the road, ugh! If it is a great price that is grabbing you then maybe try Priceline?

Btw, I just stayed at the new Marriott waterfront and will give it rave reviews!

And for Valentines Day if you really want to splurge and treat your finace to a meal she will never forget make reservations now for Rovers! My husband took me there for my birthday 2 years ago and we still talk about it all the time!
