Provided they haven't already explored off-campus, I would recommend walking around Georgetown (M and Wisconsin area)...tons of shops and a nice variety of restaurants. If you can recommend your husband's and daughter's taste in food, we can recommend some specifics.

Thanks. My husband will eat anything but my daughter's a typical teen who likes hamburgers and american food but will occasionally try something different. They're staying near the campus so a walk around georgetown would work. Can you suggest a good restaurant near the campus?

You could try Nathan's -- right at the intersection of M and Wisconsin.

As a side note, Washingtonian has a great dining site that categorizes restaurants by Very Best (usually but not always expensive), Best Bargain, and Dirt Cheap Eats (especially helpful for a student).

Also for a great burger in G'town, try Five Guys Burgers and Fries ... just north of the M and Wisconsin intersection.

If your daughter will settle for Mexican food, Guapas is very good and not too far away.
