OK, with some reservation I've booked this show. I must say I've never seen such glowing reviews (not just on this site) for anything. While still slightly skeptical that it can be THAT good (everyone has their own sense of humor afterall), we're going with an open mind. I promise to report back in a couple weeks. Thanks.

Oh and one question - I know the check in is at 5 PM, but what time do we really need to get there by. Happy to have a drink or two, but not if we're just going to be watching others eating their food or if the beginning entertainment is corny as I've heard it referred as. Thanks.

Loved the show, did NOT care for the food. However it is ok and it will keep your stomach from growling.

We saw the show in January. The show is fun but definately not the GREATEST. The magic is impressive and Warren has a fun personality, but we didn't leave saying it was the best part of our trip. The one thing that upset us a bit was that we were not informed about the first part of the show. You basically sit in a Victorian parlor/bar (we were seated with another couple)for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours waiting for the show to start. We didn't order the package, so we got to watch our new friends eat dinner. NOT ENJOYABLE! We thought we would be out of the show relatively early, but with all the wasted time we didn't leave until after 11pm.

OK, now I'm confused. According to their website, check-in is at 5, the entire evening should take about 3.5 hours and Warren's show is 2 hours. So that jives with your 1.5 - 2 hours of waiting for the show to start, but that should have put you out of there by 9 at the latest, not 11. What am I missing? Thanks.

Hi again. The hours your mention sound about right to me. I know we left the show and went down to Moose McGillycuddy's for dinner (sat in the upstairs balcony and watched all the people passing along Front St)

After that we window shopped awhile on Front Street then headed back "home", arrivng in Kihei around 11 (or just shortly thereafter).

I do aggree the mealtime entertainment is cheezy, but we enjoyed it. Also enjoyed meeting the three other couples and chatting while we ate. I really enjoyed the food and drinks! Did find juggling it on my lap abit dicey though!

Warren bases his whole show on the Andy of Mayberry Show, which is about as cheesy as they come....but such a fav of SO many!...if you don't like this kind of humor, you may want to rethink going.

I thought his interaction with the audience was what makes it the best!

Just caught up with this thread again -
OldSouthernBelle, we did sit on the beach quite a bit at night cause we rented a house on Maui that had it's own bit of sand. Loved hearing the crash of the waves and looking at the moon (though we were surrounded by sand crabs!)

Ken, are you still suffering cold winters or have you escaped? I'm counting the days til our escape to the Caribbean - not until May.

Actually it's not so much the cold as the extreme wet we had this winter. From Dec 15 - end of Jan we ad about double the normal amount of rainfall. Temps were mild though, never dropping below freeze here at my house in South Seattle.

For the last week or so the rain has stopped and the sun come out and now early spring has arrived with some flowering plants (crocus, flowering plum tree) already putting on a display. First of my daff's will probably start blooming in the next 10 days or so. Winter tends to end early in Seattle - though summer can take forever to get here.

Ken, daffodil already? I'm salivating at the thought. Although, come to think of it, I did see a pair of robins yesterday here in Michigan. Maybe we will be getting an early spring. Rarotonga - ah, more salivating. Hope you write us a report so we can live it vicariously. We are off to our first trip to St. Barts in May (renting a house.)

Yeah I remember wintertime in Michigan (I spend 3 years as kid im Battle Creek). Wayyyyyy too cold and snowy for me nowadays.

Seattle has surprisingly mild (though wet) winters and this year was no exception. Even though we are probably further north than you (unless you are in Northen Michigan) we rarely have snow - and when it does happen it usually only sticks around for a few days before being washed away by the rain. Just to give you an idea of what February is like here in Seattle I posted a few photos from yard showing what is going on as of this morning (9-9:30 am PST). You can see them here:

PS: St. Barts sounds terrific - and renting a house is our preferred way to stay somewhere (cheaper and with a lot more room and privacy than a hotel or resort). Sounds like a great trip.

Yes, I enjoyed your flower pics as well! How do you get so many blooms on your forsythia? Mine is blooming, but not nearly so much as yours!
