Pilots Wife...WELL SAID!!! We live the same life as you so I know it well. The noise that some find annoying...well, its called "the sound of freedom".

I hate those fighter jets also

Reminds me of those police helicopters that seem to just sit above your house all night, making sleep impossible.

Is this also the sound of freedom? Or some keystone cop with to much time or poer in his hands.

No disrespect to the jobs our pilots are doing, but how are they going to stop the more likely threat that's not coming from the air?

Israel is stopping the terror. Why will a jet flying 10000 feet in the air 900 miles an hour do the job.

Will the jet stop:

25 men who may jump out of a van with machine guns ??

A bomb in a church?

Chemical weapons?

Internet hacking?

Spend the money on real fixes to terror, not jets flying through the air!

I heard the fighter jets last night. I guess they decided to come out to play early.

I was in DC during the supposedly bothersome jet flights and never heard them in spite of being somewhat near DCA. What are you people talking about?
I had read about the noise problem in this forum and was kind of waiting to see what would happen, but I was there for 2 weeks and didn't notice the stuff people were talking about.

Hey, I am going to visit NYC over the 4th. Flying in to see the Yankees! I am glad we are able to have fighters in the air and ready! Even though I don't think anything will happen, their goal is to frighten us enough to stop doing things we enjoy. I will not live in fear, and I salute the pilots above any of our cities!

I'm simply amazed at the stupidity of so many people who post here. People who complain about our gov't trying to protect them from another 9/11.

I, for one, find the rumble of the jets strangely, eerily comforting. Not sure why. If this is what it takes to soothe my nerves, it's fine with me. Whether it's in my mind or it's fact...I just feel safer.

Happy 4th to my fellow countrymen, both home and abroad. May God bless the USA!

I was shopping for ear plugs in advance of the fighter jets coming back and every place I went to they were sold out. Interesting.
