Closest grocery store is just outside the Disney property in Lake Buena Vista in what I believe is called the Crossroads Shopping Centre...also has a MacDonalds', TGIF, pizza place, etc. If you look on the map it is just across the street from the Hilton, Grosvenor Resort, Doubletree Suites and not far from Disney Marketplace(? ...the shopping village)

We have our trip all booked and paid for (Resort Magic plan) but noticed a couple of the 7 attractions that are passes cover are either closed the majority of the time or in rehab (whatever that means) or reduced hours. Has anyone else ever encountered that with their trips and were you able to get discounts because of it? Can we ask for some sort of compensation since we didn't know this before our trip plans were paid for. Thanks everyone

We just returned from our trip to WDW and Universal Studios last week. We have been to WDW 5 times. We stayed at the Beach Club and it is really quite nice. They pool area (Stormalong Bay) is considered one of the best resort pools at WDW. We could walk to EPCOT from the hotel and also to the Boardwalk (lots of restaurants, shops, etc.) Our favorite meal was at Boma's at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I also recommend Spoodles, 50's Prime Time Cafe and SciFi. We split our stay between Disney and Universal. We stayed four nights at the Beach Club and three nights at the Hard Rock Hotel. Because we were staying on site at Universal, we were able to go right into the Express Line all day. We never stood in line more than 5 minutes at Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure. This was a great perk. We just kept going from ride to ride - it was fabulous. You might want to consider staying one or two nights at Universal. These parks are big fun and your children are just the right ages for them.
Good luck and have fun planning your trip!

Gooding's is the nearest grocery store in the Crossroads Shopping Center. It is outrageously expensive. When we were there, I stopped in to get groceries since we had a fridge. Diapers that I pay less than $12 for at home in Maryland cost almost $16! I am sure there there has to be a Publix or some other reasonable place nearby.
