Walking from Metropolitan to Empire State Building

Is this a long walk? I noticed that in a previous post someone recommended that walking it was not a good option (because you'd have sore feet).

I had planned to walk from my hotel to the ESB - I reckoned 25-30 mins would do it. Am I right in thinking this?

I don't know where to Metropolitan Hotel is, but a general rule of thumb would be - walking will take approximately 1 street (not avenue) per minute (unless you're walking through the theatre district which is PACKED WITH PEOPLE and harded to navigate). Avenues take longer because they're much longer than streets.

It's on 51st and Lex...that's 18 streets and 3 avenues from the ESB...about a mile and a half. If you walk at NYC resident speed (fast pace, without stopping for a second to look at anything, ignoring "don't walk" signs) it would take you 30 minutes. If you're going to casually stroll it, allow 45.

Distance hotel to ESB -just over 1 mile. An easy 20 minute walk (at a leisurely pace.
