Walking around downtown Cleveland

My wife and I will be visiting Cleveland next month on a road trip. We have Indians tickets for the game that night, but want to go to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame during the day. Are we better off parking someplace by the stadium and walking back and forth? Hopefully we can find someplace with a decent priced all day parking option. Is the downtown area safe for walking around later in the evening if we wind up parking closer to the R&R HOA?

Thanks pasandy91. My wife has already been on ballpark chasers for a few years now, since we've managed to make it to over 1/2 the stadiums so far. Fitting in visits to three more stadiums is the reason for the road trip including Ohio. Having been fortunate to visit stadiums in many of the cities, we know that some of them are obviously safer than others for wandering around after the game. it sounds like we should plan to park closer to the stadium while in Cleveland.

We were in Cleveland in May, some nice neighborhoods, some not so nice. I would park closer to the stadium for easy access after the game, and then either taxi or Uber to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where you can easily spend several hours.

The area around the ballpark is just fine, I know we're beyond the time where original poster is coming but if future people find themselves reading this, you are nowhere near any bad parts of Cleveland at the stadium. Take a walk over to E. 4th for a wonderful pedestrian only street of high end bars, comedy clubs and restaurants.
