My husband and I are looking to relocate to an area where we can have a better quality of life for our three children. We currently live in Virginia, but are dissatisfied with the city and town. We'd like to find a place that can offer good schools, walkable communities with a small town feel, reasonable housing but close enough to a medium size city that we have access to sports, arts, restaurants etc.

In addition, we'd like a mild climate and an area where the job market is stable or at least growing. Does this city/area exist?

I think I read that within your own state: Arlington VA was supposed to be one of the more walkable cities. I know it's a large city, but there must be some smaller neighborhoods that provide much of what you seek.

Might help to narrow down location as to east coast, west coast, midwest- or are you willing to move anywhere?

probably would like to avoid the northeast due to high cost of living and very cold weather.

it would help if we knew where you are now. Area, if you don't want to name the town.

Are you referring to a Seaside, FL type community?? I understand one is on the drawing board for Bayou La Batre (near Fairhope and Mobile). In fact, Fairhope,AL is a nice community! Belle.

Maybe you should list your reasons why you are dissatisfied with your city in Virginia and weigh them against things you think are important.

Good schools usually equal expensive areas. Are you and your husband finacially stable enough to locate to a town that may be expensive? Walkable usually means small or urban. Do you and your husband both have job skills that lend to relocating easily?

I'm not being judgemental but asking honestly.
