Waikiki family hotels???

Just starting to plan 10 day Waikiki stay for Christmas 2006. Any advise on good family spot near Diamond Head end of Waikiki?

The Ilikai or the Hilton Hawaiian Village would be nice.

I second the vote for New Otani Kaimana Beach -- especially their "family wing", which has kitchenettes and a nice view of the adjacent park:

Queen Kapi`olani Hotel overlooks the zoo, and their suites/studios offer kitchenettes, too:

You might want to check the vacation rental accommodations on this site:

Forget about the Hilton...it's waaaaaaaay the other end of Waikiki from the Diamond Head end. And the Ilikai is even further away than that.

Resortquest Waikiki Banyon (74) and Resortquest Waikiki Sunset (90) are nice condos on the Diamond Head side. They are across the stree from each other.

This map shows most hotels & condos in Waikiki.

Lots of oahu info:

You can compare hotels/condos:

www.expedia.com

www.bookit.com

www.hawaii-hotels.com Scroll to the bottom and where it says VISIT, click on Oahu hotels or Oahu condos.

Buy an 'Oahu Revealed' book. Lots of hotel info, sights, restaurants.
