Boy it's been a looong time since I've stayed at the Beachcomber, but I do remember it being very, very nice, clean, bright, very well kept. It is across the street from the beach, and we had to lean out our balcony to get a glimpse of the ocean. We had a Hawaiin tour company based in our hotel, which was convenient. I think it's in a great location and well worth the money.

We stayed at the Beachcomber in June 1999, and were very satisfied. The rooms were equivalent to something like a mainland Sheraton or Holiday Inn in good condition. Best, however, is the location - very convenient to the beach with a short walk through the very nice Royal Hawaiian property, and next to the International Marketplace, which is kind of fun and a good place for budget food.

We stayed at the Beachcomber for two nights in early November and it was fine. We upgraded to an ocean view room on the 25th floor for a few bucks more and it was well worth it to have a postcard view of Waikiki. The room and service were good and the location is great. Minutes from the beach, shopping, and lots of restaurants.
