Those of you who are saying it should be easy piece of cake etc. - I think you're missing the point that were talking about an adult who wants to visit with an unaccompanied minor. I'm assuming that the OP is mentioning unaccompanied minor status because that person traveling is actually being looked after by the airline. Given that the airline is possibly responsible for that young person, I can't imagine they would allow a nonrelated adult to meet them. if the OP goes to the airport early, asks for a pass, again if it's a true unaccompanied minor with that status with the airline, that may be reflected in the notes on the travelers record.
Think about it if your son or daughter under 18 was traveling, and some random person was stalking them, went to the airport and said hi Mary Smith is traveling on flight 57 and I'd like to meet her at the gate - would you feel comfortable that the airline said yes?
When we've done this to meet my niece and nephew, we actually had to get the forms in advance and not at the airport

I believe I have made that point but since that has made me, and several others, naysayers and party poopers, I think I am done. But again, I just do not see AA facilitating a visit to an unaccompanied minor while said minor has a 90 minute layover in a very busy airport. Based on time alone, this visit might be all of 7 minutes.
