visiting Alaska
We are planing a trip to Alaska the last of Aug or the first of Sept., Any help of hints about where to stay or where to go will be appreciated. The rates of motel and good lodging we are interested in. I know a lot of you have been there so give us your ideal places to sightsee. Thanks. cbc

Kenai Fjords day cruise from Seward.
Denali National Park - first bus of the morning - get off and catch another back out.
Fly to Barrow if you can afford it and the weather is good. It's quite isolated and very friendly. A good place to buy crafts. And you get to see the vastness of the state.

Thank you for replying, About 3 years ago we flew to Anchorage and had all our plans made and the first day we went to Seward for the day, when we got back to the Hotel, we had a phone
call that Curtis's brother in Mobile, Al. was
real sick so we flew back out that night,To make a long storyshort He died before we could get home. We have been planing another trip there
but have not made it yet, .We do hope to get there soon. Just thought since some people had been they could give us some pointers.
Thanks for the tips. We will make a point to
take the day trip on boat. We have heard that it was beautiful. When were you there?? There will be two couples of us going and we are leaning
toward B & Bs. What do you think? Betty

Hello- We have gone to Alaska the past 2 falls in early Sept. It is a gorgeous time to visit!! But the hotel prices generally don't decrease any until about Sept. 20th or so, so if you want to make the trip more economical I would suggest waiting until later in the month to go. SOme of the more "touristy" attractions may close down by then, but if you are after scenary, the landscape is just as pretty up there after mid-Sept. Have a great trip!
