Sounds great! I've done a similar itinerary before, but did the trip midweek-midweek (7 days) to avoid the weekend crowds/higher hotel rates on weekends in Vegas.

When you are in Zion, be sure to do the Angel's Landing hike. It's certainly a thrill. Also, the La Verkin hot springs (several miles outside Springdale) are quite a treat. You can sit in the cool, soft sandy-bottomed river with a waterfall of steaming hot water falling over your head or shooting at your back. Aaahhhh.... Also, there is a ghost town across the river from Springdale, which isn't much to see, except for the graveyard. It's so eerie...almost the whole town was "killed by indians"...so it says on the tombstones.

Enjoy your trip - I am insanely jealous.

The ghost town is called Grafton and it's across the only bridge over the Virgin River in Rockville, which is right next door to Springdale.

Grafton use to be such a neat place and a couple of movies have been filmed there in the past. We have pictures of us at the old houses in the mid 1980's before they were vandalized or burned down. The church is still a neat place to take pictures with Zion in the background.
