Vegas report
Leaving Las Vegas (gosh that sounds familiar?) after Almost a week at a business meeting. Top picks: Best Restaurant: Olives at the Bellagio. Best Show: Blue Man. Best "hotel sites": Bellagio, New York New York, Paris, The Venetian, the view from the Stratosphere. Best gift shop: Hard Rock Hotel/Casino. Best bar for people watching and grown-up drinks: Red Square in Mandalay Bay. Never been here before, and I was surprised how much fun it was!

I was absolutely appalled at the size of Steaks the Americans serve in Las Vegas restaurants. They must have weighed at least 16 ounces. In England we eat far smaller portions. We enjoyed Las Vegas itself. The floral display in the Bellagio was really something

Ellen, I can't compare it to "O" because "O" was totally sold out for the week we were there. I've seen Cirque on Bravo cable network and I know I'd love a live performance -- there's clearly no comparison to video. Blue Man tickets (and good seats, too) were available. That's a plus. Having grown up in theater and music worlds, this was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Great imaginative blend of energy and high technology. When the audience has so much fun, I can only imagine what a blast it must be for the performers.

While Todd could have been more gracious, he has a point. Why would somebody from England visit Las Vegas and their main comment be they are "apaled" by the size of our food with the implication that Americans are wrong and English do it better. That is no different that us visiting London and as a main comment saying their food is terrible. The "ugly" comment is not reserved just for Americans. This was a stupid comment by our English friend and if made by an American would have been loudly criticized.
