Vegas pools close when?
Does anyone know when, generally, the big Vegas hotels close their pools for the season? I'm going in early October, and I'm wondering if it's worth spending the extra to go somewhere with a nice pool. Thanks.

early October is just about the best time to go weatherwise. Warm enough to use the pools but not the brutal summer heat. Pools will definitely be open. Anticipating your next question - my opinion as to some good hotel pools - Caesar's Palace, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Mirage.

We've been there at Thanksgiving and the pools at the Hyatt and Bellagio were still in use. I can't help but think the better hotels heat their pools making them useable most of the year. We have two pools at my husband's hotel in Tampa...both heated and in use all year. Granted, this is FL, it can get pretty cool here too on occasion, but a heated pool is a matter of course for upper echelon hotels in decent climates.

Except that in Las Vegas during the winter the nightly temps regularly drop into the low 30's (50% of nights in Dec and January are below freezing), while in Tampa the evening lows are still in the low 50's. That's a pretty big difference.
