VEGAS -- must see / must do's?? It's my first time!

We'll be there for two days during the July 4th weekend! My boyfriend and I are in our late twenties. We're planning to check out the casinos, go to a show or two, take a look at the other hotels, see the fireworks, go dancing at clubs, etc.

Are there specific things you'd suggest that we do or see? Especially anything romantic? =)

THANKS!

jelly,

If you do the things listed on your agenda, 2 days will fly by! Here are some thoughts: Go to the top of the Rio at night and have a drink overlooking the strip. Go to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Take a Gondola ride in the Venetian.

Finally, perhaps not romantic but more on the erotic side: go as a couple to an adult club and get a lap dance! No one will ever know....

Romantic - Bellagio fountains at night, if you can splurge, have dinner at one of the restaurants that sits right on the lake with a great view of the fountain show, like Picasso or Prime

Also, views at night from the top of the Strat and "Eiffel Tower"

For a somewhat romantic, yet more erotic show, see Cirque's Zumanity at NYNY.

Rather than trying to run around like crazy I'd pick an example of several kinds of experiences. Make a list of the kinds of things you'd like to see then pick one of each.
.
I'm a lot older .. but for me an exquistite romantic meal, a view of the strip at night, the Bellagio anywhere ... especially the gardens and a drink in the Petrossian with a view of the Chihuly ceiling and lobby life.
.
For mew romance is about quality, not quantity. For myself I loved atying at The Venitian and having "the run" of their "Venice". Bellagio is pretty knock out too.
.
If you like shbows and bars, pick one of each and enjoy!!!

Thanks for responding! We had a great time in Vegas. You're right, instead of running around, we had a pretty relaxed weekend enjoying each other's company. Thanks for all your suggestions! It helped us prioritize the activities we wanted to do! =)

Glad that you enjoyed your trip but inquiring minds want to know more.....

What did you do? What did you like? Gamble? Since it was your first time, what are your impressions? Hate anything? Where did you stay?

You know....stuff..

Yeah, I'd like to know you're first impressions as well. I'm heading out there for Labor Day for the first time too, any first-timer suggestions?

Hi placeu2 and ccr,

Hmmm... My impressions...

I thought Vegas was very amusing. Since I've visited most of western Europe, it's really funny to see the replicas of historic monuments all jumbo'ed together. Vegas seems to be really over the top.

We picked a few activities from the suggestions we got ---- so we'd make good use of time but also be leisurely.

So we went to see a concert, walked around the strip, stopped in 2 or 3 hotels/casinos, gambled a little bit (won money!), took pictures, shopped for little gifts for each other. By the way, we stayed at the Venetian - which was a good experience.

I know it may sound boring and super laid-back. But it was really fun because my boyfriend and I just enjoy being with each other, doesn't matter what we're doing or where we are.

For your trips, I'd suggest picking a few key things you absolutely must do, and leave some time for exploring and relaxing.

Have a great time!!!
