Vegas MUST see in 1 day

Hola! Thinking of Las Vegas while skiing in Utah. Arrive 1/4 at 4 PM, stay one night Vegas, and leave at 9AM following day. We'll be with our 5 yr. old tornado.

What to see and do in this short time?

No gambling (well, maybe a slot here and there...), no Nightclub show. Just the "Oohs and Aahs" of Vegas.

Thank you.

Go see the dolphins at the Mirage. Your child will love them!

Not that your child will enjoy this but my favorite spot in Vegas is at the Venetian, standing at the bottom of the two escalators leading to the mall area and staring at the ceiling.

The fountains at the Bellagio.

You will not be able to go into the casinos with junior. Suprisingly, they are very strict.

I would be sure to atleast drive the full length of the strip at night and take in the view. It would be nice to see the volcano erupting at the Mirage. The outside of the Venetian is a great viewing area for that. Also you must see the fountains at the Bellagio. I would go into the Venetian and Ceasars Palace for a look around. No one will bother you with a child in the casino as long as you keep them moving. You will not be able to sit at a slot machine with a child nearby. Have a great evening there! Maybe you can get a room with a great strip view. The airport is close to all the hotels on the strip. Have fun!

Circus Circus - Arcades and free circus acts. Not much else to do for little kids in Vegas.

You are arriving at 4 pm or will be at the hotel at 4pm? Some of the activities may close early. The dolphins may close by 5 pm, so you may want to check these things out. There is also a great aquarium at the Mandalay that your 5 year old will go nuts over. It is called Shark Reef. I think there is a Merlin/Dragon show outside the Excalibur too. You can take him on the roller coaster at NYNY. It is open until 11pm, and the food court has kid friendly food like Nathan's.
