Vegas hotels with superb rooms

We are celebrating our 20th anniversary so I'm hoping to get this right. I've read a lot about the hotels themselves but not reviews that focus on the rooms. My primary consideration is getting a large, luxurious bedroom and bathroom. I checked into the 4 Seasons but at $500 for 7 days, plus food and shows, although we could spurge, I can't believe there aren't other hotels with suburb rooms that aren't so pricey. Do any of these hotels accomodate you for special occasions? Are certain wings of the hotel better than others. Your comments are appreciated.

Recently spend my honeymoon ther. Wehad a great time. We stayed at the Paris. Let them know while making reservations it was our honeymoon. We got a "P" room on a high floor. It faced Bellagio so we could see the fountains. We got a coupon book upon check in with great 2 for 1 or percentage off coupons.
Congrats!!

Taylor, if you're interested in Four Seasons caliber rooms, your options in LV are quite limited. And BTW, the standard rooms at the FS in LV would disappoint you. The suites are much nicer, but do they justify the cost? Not when a suite which is larger and just as nice at Bellagio cost much less.

Get a Penthouse Suite at Bellagio.
The rooms are 1020 sq ft as I recall, his and hers bathrooms which are spectacular, including a genuine steam shower...it's everything you could want in a special occasion hotel room.
You get restricted access to the upper floors by your own hidden elevators near the lobby (which most people don't know about) where there is a very nice welcoming lounge. You thus bypass all the casino traffic.

Compared to what you'd pay for that room in Chicago or SF or NYC, it's a steal in LV.

The other option is a suite at Venetian. Their websites has very detailed photos of the different suites. I've not stayed in one because I've always been thrilled with the suites at Bellagio.

I've stayed in suites in the Four Seasons NYC, Four Seasons Chicago, Four Seasons Maui and many other great rooms. None of them surpass the suites at Bellagio.

Big warning, though: MGM bought Bellagio about 3 years ago and the service isn't what you'll find at a FS. But the rooms themselves are great. We usually pay around $275-350 for a Penthouse Suite (and we don't gamble).

Having stayed at the Rio, The Bellagio, and The Venitian, the best standard rooms are at the Venitian.

Rebecca: Thank you for the posting - just the info I was looking for. We are going in January, and it looks like there are no bargins to be found, but I'll certainly look into the suites.

Just got back from the Bellagio this weekend for our tenth anniversary. I was disappoiinted in the facility. It's very beautiful. Just little things that I don't expect of an alleged five-star hotel. I think the next we go, we will stay at the Ventian. Wherever you stay, be sure to use the concierge to book your shows. Congratulations and good luck.

What didn't you like about the Bellagio? Just curios because I will be spending a week there next month.

Service at all the large casino-hotels in LV is poor compared to most business class hotels in other cities...even average quality business hotels.

Venetian's service is even a notch below Bellagio's. Bellagio's is OK, but not what it used to be years ago.

Standard rooms at Venetian are better than standard rooms at Bellagio.

People who go to Bellagio (or Venetian) expecting to find staff and room perfection on a par with hotels like a typical Four Seasons are always disappointed. You have to keep in mind that these are casinos first, hotels second. The profits come from the casinos 90% to 10% versus the hotels. That's why the hotel is always a secondary concern.

Stayed at the Paris on a business trip and had a real nice registration person - was paying $225/night. I got upgraded to a junior suite. HUGE room with awesome marble master bathroom suite. If you talk up your honeymoon and it's not a busy night you'll probably get upgraded.

Taylor, check out the following website for what I think are the best descriptions of hotel rooms.
Don't be put off by the name; and the guy's writing style is rather humorous.

Rebecca, how did you acquire the Penthouse suite for that low rate? Usually, the corner salon suites run about $400 per night! Also, I do think the Executive Suite at the Four Seasons and the Salon Suite at the Bellagio are comparable (both in the 850 sq. ft. or so range)!

You could look at Mirage.com;we have stayed in their suites on floors 24-29 which are over 1000sq.ft,quite the view of the strip;have their own elevator access;have "Royal Service" which is a limo to/from the airport, fresh flowers and just a phone call away from reservations and show tickets.AND the best part is we have paid as low as $199.00 a nite(and as high as $500.00 for a Saturday)Look under Specials at their site. The Mirage has a very nice pool.

If you don't have to be on the Strip, and you would like a terrific resort, we stayed at the JW Marriott in Summerlin for a few days last summer & then moved on to the Mirage (NOT luxurious but reasonable). It was about 10 miles from the strip, right across Sahara or Flamingo. Very pretty, and very relaxing.

Thought of an off-strip suggestion:the Lake Las Vegas Hyatt in Henderson,NV.
It is about a 20 minute ride to the strip, located near Lake Mead.It is a lovely complex. At Hyatt.com check out rates for their Regency Club level rooms. They treated us very nicely there! This is where we celebrated part of our 20th Anniv. There are several eating options(although you'll get plenty for breakfast and afternoon cocktails
in the Regency Club);there is a small casino on sight, golf and nice pools/cabanas.
We have been very pleased each time we have stayed there;very few kids.
Celine Dion is building her new home on the other side of the lake and a new Four Seasons Hotel is in progress also.

I was in LV in August and stayed at Paris. I was really impressed with the room. It wasn't that expensive and it was huge. The bathroom was a nice size and all marble but needed more lights. Ask for a high floor facing the strip and they will do whatever they can to accommidate you. Have fun.

TJC: the new hotel is a Ritz Carlton, not a Four Seasons.

CKQ: it's not size that makes a Four Seasons or Bellagio suite worth the $$ to those who appreciate them. It's the quality of the furnishings, linens, attention to detail. Paris is great for what it is. But its quality is no different than a typical Marriott. Particle board and veneer furniture, so-so carpeting, slightly rough sheets, average pillows, etc

The Venetian's rooms are all suites. Upon entering there's a hallway with a table and mirror. To the right is the bathroom, which is large with a marble floor and counter top and a separate vanity with lighted make-up mirror. There's an all glass shower and separate enlongated tub, which is bigger than average but not a two person tub. There's a separate room for the toilet which has a phone. Past the bathroom is the bedroom area. We had a king with lots of extra pillows including neck rolls. There's a TV and safe enclosed in the armoir in front of the bed. Then you step down 2-3 stairs and you're in the living room which has another TV, a sofa, a couple of chairs and table and a huge picture window. Ours overlooked the pool and the north end of the Strip. We asked for a mini fridge and one was delivered free of charge before we even got to our room! We were able to check out via the TV and our bill printed on our in-room fax a few minutes later. This was quite a nice hotel and service was excellent. We paid $119 per night mid week in early June.

Another great room we had was at Paris. We were upgraded to a suite when we told them it was our anniversary. This room had a huge foyer with a fridge and wet bar. In the center of the room was a large armoir with a TV that could swivel for living room or bedroom viewing. There were two completely separate bathrooms. The more feminine one had a gigantic jacuzzi tub that can easily accomodate you and hubby. It had nifty little soaps in decorated tins and other girly stuff. The other bathroom had a large all glass shower and was obviously for the man. Both bathrooms had a toilet and phone. There was also a fax and desk in the room. This room was ultra feminine and deluxe and we paid only $69 per night!!!

If the prices are identical, I think I'd pick a Paris suite over the Venetian, but both are quite nice. Paris is center Strip while Venetian is skewed slightly to the north of the action. Either way....have fun!

I think the rooms at The Venetian are the nicest of all, but I've also stayed at Bellagio and Paris which were very nice but not as spacious or nice as The Venetian.

I've stayed at many of the nicer hotels in Vegas and as far as service goes, the Bellagio wins. I say this because the bed was very comfortable, the room attendants cleaned our rooms twice a day (at least we noticed the emptied trash pails and cleaned bathrooms) also, I will never forget the first night we were there I was taking a nap while boyfriend was downstairs in the casino. When I woke up, there was a blanket over me and chocolate squares next to me in the shape of a "B". Made me feel special. In other words, the Bellagio is the only "nice" hotel that I've stayed in that still provides turn down service without you having to ask for it. The rooms at the Venetian are nice and so are the rooms at the Paris hotel. I was upgraded to a very beautiful suite(Paris) when the check-in clerk noticed my birthdate when I presented my I.D. What a nice birthday gift and we only paid for 2 of the 4 nights that we were there. I must tell you though and this was a shock to me that the suites in the Rio are very nice. We stayed in the masquerade suite which had floor to ceiling windows from the bathroom to the dining area. The suite was 1600sqft. and it had 1.5 baths. Like someone said before, when making your reservation, let them know that you will be celebrating a special occasion. You're more likely to get a room upgrade if you arrive Sun-Thur. and early also, just ask if there are any suites available. On another note, I noticed that no one mentioned the suites at Mandalay Bay. Has anyone stayed there? How are the rooms and service?
