Vegas Christmas Day Check-in

We will be arriving to Las Vegas on Christmas Day, staying for 3 nights before departing to Arizona for the rest of the trip. I am having alot of problems trying to reserve a hotel due to a Saturday check-in. I tried booking Paris, etc...Any suggestions as I am trying to avoid staying the initial night in a budget type hotel and then relocate to one of the nicer ones on the Strip...

Here is what you do......

Make a reservation for the arrival of your preference. Last name: Claus First Initial: S.

They will find the space.

Busy time on the strip.

I would make your reservation at the hotel of your choice starting on Sunday night. As you dates get closer, like a week away, try and see if they will let you add on to your existing reservation.

Frequently major hotels in Vegas do not allow Sat. check-in if it is a big holiday weekend, it's always been that way. Christmas(Dec. 24 through New Year's)is a very crowded time in Vegas. For only 3 nights maybe you might want to consider off-strip hotels. I am assuming you will have a car since you say you are going to AZ. Perhaps the Orleans (on Tropicana) would allow Sat. checkin. or maybe the Rio ?? I doubt if you will find much "budget" rates even at budget hotels at Xmas time either, anyplace up there. There are a couple of motels on Paradise Rd., Embassy Suites, etc and Paradise runs parallel to the strip. Not too bad if you have a car.

These hotels will usually accept Saturday night check-in:

Ballys
Excalibur
Monte Carlo
Flamingo
San Remo
Circus Circus

Of those, Bally's, Monte Carlo, and the Flamingo are the most decent.

Hope this helps!

Did some checking. Looks like Luxor, Monte Carlo, Excalibur, and Circus are all allowing check in on Dec. 25 and do have availability.

There may be others as well. Don't give up.

I am doing the same over Vetran's day weekend. I am staying in the Holiday Inn Express in North Las Vegas. Very nice. Great pool. NO casino so its very quiet and relitively inexpensive.

Thanks everyone for the responses. We were able to book at the Aladdin. Does anyone have any experience with them? The location looked real good.

We stayed at the Aladdin in July and had a wonderful stay. The location is VERY good. Just across from Bellagio and adjoining Paris. It's an easy walk to most of the big casinos, including Caesar's, Mirage, Bally's and the Flamingo. We were upgraded to a suite overlooking the fountains at Bellagio.
