Do consider a day trip by floatplane to Victoria or one of the flightseeing destinations offered by Harbour Air (www.harbour-air.com) or West Coast Air (www.westcoastair.com). If C$199 per person (RT) sounds high, try Priceline for your hotel and use the savings for the plane.

I've been to both places as well. Vancouver is absolutely beautiful, but if you go there you should also go to Seattle and Victoria..so if you only have 4 days I would go to Boston. There's so much to do in Boston. Cape Cod is only a 1 +1/2 drive, which is very close. You can go whale watching there. It's a good time of year as well. If you are looking for tickets, I booked my tickets through Orbitz for Boston and got a great deal. I also got some great hotel deals for Boston and Cape Cod through Orbitz. Good luck! Have fun..
